From the moment you spawn on this seed, things seem to come in Jurassic proportions. You can find huge mushrooms in roofed forests. There’s also an extreme hills biome full of snow and tall peaks. However, the most Jurassic part of this seed sits beneath the ground. There you’ll find a rare fossil.
Minecraft PC 1.10.X Seed: -8523255949497105416
You spawn in a forest with a swamp to your left and a roofed forest behind you. Roofed forests are interesting because of their tightly packed, wide-trunked dark wood trees. Since they’re so close together, their leaves make a canopy that cuts out the sunlight. (As the name “roofed forest” implies.)
One of the coolest factors of them may actually be the huge mushrooms, though. You can find red and brown mushrooms that are as tall as the trees. When you destroy the mushrooms, they drop many regular mushrooms which you can then use in food.
To the south, an extreme hills biome with snowy peaks as tall as the clouds breaks up the forest terrain. This adds to the larger-than-life feel of this seed.
If you’ve ever wanted to unearth a dinosaur, this next part is definitely for you. At 256 / 63 / 196 you will find a small, unassuming cave. A short jaunt down into its depths leads you to an incredible discovery.
If you look up, you’ll find bones poking out of the ceiling. These are part of a fossil buried in the stone. Fossils are a new rare structure found in deserts and swamps. The tiny swamp biome above is just enough to spawn this fossil.
You can unearth it to find that it’s one of the four variations of backbones that spawn in Minecraft. The bone blocks that make up the fossil can be broken down into nine bonemeal per block, but it’s much cooler to leave it in its fossil form.
After you’ve played your role as an paleontologist, you can explore the rest of the swamp biomes for more fossils or maybe go see if you can find anything else exciting elsewhere on the seed.
