This seed has a gorgeous snowy terrain with a few ice spikes, a ravine full of rare ore, and an igloo with a hidden secret. It all begins by going north over the icy mountains to get to the ice spikes. Make sure to be careful of polar bears. (Or stop and say hi to them if you like playing on peaceful.)
Minecraft PC 1.10.X Seed: 1016645809
It takes awhile to get to the spikes, but once you do it’s worth it. Ice spikes are exactly what their name states. They’re spikes of pure ice pointed toward the sky in all shapes and sizes. This rare biome adds a cool look to the usual monotone of snowy biomes.
If staring at ice all day isn’t what interests you, and you want to get on to the rare ore part of the seed, go back to the spawn point at 14 / 67 / 2. From there head straight west until you come to the ravine opening. At first it may not look like much with just a few waterfalls and lava falls.
However, you’ll notice that one of the lava falls actually flows down into a second, deeper ravine. This is the ravine where all the rare ore lies. You can find gold, redstone, lapis lazuli, and even diamonds.
The lava pools at the bottom make it hard to retrieve the ores, but a bucket of water can solve that problem. There are also a couple of caves openings you can explore for more ore.
One more noteworthy thing you can find in ice plains is an igloo. Usually, if you look long and hard enough you can find more than one, but I’ve found the first one for you. From the spawn point head south and west until you reach the igloo at the coordinates 321 / 66 / 243.
Igloos are more than just cozy, easy-to-construct places to live in the frozen biomes. If you remove the white rug in the igloo, you’ll find a trapdoor that leads down to a secret laboratory. The lab is filled with two poor imprisoned experiments, a brewing stand, a potted cactus, and a chest containing one golden apple, one emerald, two red apples, and some wheat.
I’m not sure we want to know what was going on in that lab, or more importantly, what happened to the scientist, but it is an easy place to pick up a couple of rare items. Just get the goodies, and get out while you still can.
Have fun exploring the rest of the snowy biomes!
